Sharm el Sheikh by yourself? It is possible, I explain you how organize the trip

Sharm el Sheikh is in Egypt, in the south of Sinai penisula, facing on Red Sea. It has one of the best reef of the world. The city is one of the most renowned touristic arab location and of the world, thanks to a lot of resorts, hotels, good climate, it is also the site of conference, political meetings of global importance because it is the administrative center of the Sinai Governorate of South .

I always tought that a trip in Sharm was feasible only by booking through a travel agency. After years with little tourism to these places, this year there was a boom and due to the prohibitive prices offered by tour operators we tried to organize by ourself and…………………… it works !!!!!!!

I will explain how to organize a trip and save a lot of money, especially if you are four like us.

Flight

The Air Cairo company flies from Bologna and Milan to Sharm, if you are lucky and can book in advance you can find flights at low prices. I had read bad reviews of this company, for me was ok: in time, clean, helpful staff.

Hotels

You can find a lot of accommodation of every type and price: bed and breakfast, luxury hotels, mid-level resorts, ….. I usually use booking.com, try to find and you will find really everything.

We stayed in a resort in the Nabq area: Amwaj Oyoun Resort & Casino. The resort is nice, it is also sold by Italian tour operators, frequented by international tourists, Turks, Ukrainians, Italians, …. By booking with booking.com we spent 600 euros for 2 rooms for one week in all inclusive. It has a beautiful private beach equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, a long jetty through which you can immerse yourself beyond the coral reef. There is also a water park but we did not use it.

Nabq is located near the airport but quite far from the center of the city. Here you will find information about transport.

We chose this area because there is a long sandy beach, it is very rare in Sharm el Sheik. Pay attention because it is a windy area, and with strong wind no snorkeling………. Fortunately we have always managed to get in the water.

Excursions

There are a lot of excursions that you can do. You can organize the excursions with a tour operator, you’ll find a lot of agency so you can evaluate the different prices and choose the better. Also, you can organize the excursions by yourself wit a private driver. Obviously I suggest you this option, you will be free to stop where you want, visit what you want,…….
